Getting Oriented

CATCH offers a family of evidence-based programs, resources, and training to support schools in implementing Whole Child Wellness in a systemic way. When using our Coordination Kit to organize the school with unified messaging and practices to support physical and mental wellness, schools can then choose to add one or many of our other programs to meet their specific needs. Our Curriculum Map provides an overview of how all the pieces fit together.

Health Journeys
Health Journeys will launch for the 2022-23 school year and offers an upgrade and expansion to CATCH's classic evidence-based health program, which is backed by more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Because Health Journeys is still under development, we have also provided links to our signature stand-alone modules.

Main Resource for Review:
CATCH does not cover reproductive and sexual health

Stand-Alone Modules:

Note that content areas covered by these modules will be incorporated into Health Journeys for 2022-23 with streamlined and updated materials.
PE Journeys
CATCH PE materials (100% TEKS-aligned) include the CATCH PE Guidebook, and the CATCH PE Activity Boxes. The Guidebook provides direction for the implementation of CATCH PE. The Activity Boxes are designed to be versatile so CATCH PE can be utilized with different strategies in diverse settings.
New features for 2022-23:
  • Multiple options for assessment
  • Interactive slides to support lessons with visual content
  • Full scope and sequence for a 36-week school year

Culture & Climate
Quality curriculum is important, but what 25 years of scientific research has shown us at CATCH is that true change in physical and mental health behavior comes when that curriculum is supported through systemic schoolwide coordination. The resources in this section are designed to support our partner schools in achieving this.
