    A classroom curriculum for grade 6 that focuses on nutrition and physical activity. Topics such as energy balance, screen time, target heart rate, added sugars in foods, and breakfast are covered using hands-on activities. The activities reinforce the skills needed to select and prepare healthy meals and snacks, guide physical activity patterns, and foster an environment of family support.

    The curriculum is divided into eight lessons on nutrition and/or physical activity. Each lesson consists of two 20-minute parts. However, the two parts can be taught together if a 40-minute instruction period is available.
