About Our Service Learning Projects
Not only can you have a significant impact on curbing the vaping epidemic, you can build your resume through development of important skills that colleges and employers love – such as public speaking, social advocacy, and fundraising – earn school credit (where possible), and have an opportunity for state & national recognition. Our projects provide guidance and a framework to conduct each service learning project.
This program is available in partnership with: HOSA, SayWhat, and other wonderful organizations.

College Scholarships
Three project participants will be selected nationally each year to receive scholarships. Projects will be judged on impact, creativity, and reach. Reports must be submitted through the reporting form by 5 pm PST on Friday, May 21, 2021 to be eligible for consideration for this year's scholarship awards. Winners will be announced by June 30, 2021. For details on selection criteria, email catchmybreath@catch.org

Core Project Component: Personalizing, sharing, and promoting a fundraising website that supports the CATCH My Breath program.

Fundraising is a great way to help other teens get free vaping education. It's also an excellent resume-builder that colleges and employers love!

Advocate
Core Project Component: Work with school administrators to implement the CATCH My Breath Program in a new school.
Advocate
Schools are in need of vaping prevention programming and CATCH My Breath is an effective, easy-to-use option available to schools (grades 5-12) nationwide at no cost. We'll give you the information needed to convince campus administrators to take action to prevent youth vaping with a robust prevention program.

Communicate
Core Project Component: Create and promote a public service announcement (PSA) and/or digital or print marketing campaign to convey the importance of vaping prevention education.

This is a chance to let your creativity and passion for health education shine! By developing a public service announcement (PSA) campaign, you’ll be able to reach a wide audience and educate them about the dangers of vaping and/or the importance of vaping prevention education.

Core Project Component: Find an appropriate venue and deliver a community presentation about the youth vaping epidemic.

We have the presentation and the talking points, you have your personal stories and charisma. Put them together, bring them to the right audience, and together we'll make an impact.
